    Re: Uz guyz are bettaz

December 13th or jan 3rd? what's your choice?

also - if there is not enough 40k guys then we'll just do 3000 point fantasy - sound good?

    Re: Uz guyz are bettaz

1700 is the standard for 40K. I am certain that we'll have enough WHFB players, but I am fuzzy on the 40K since we suckered most of them into Fantasy last year...

We'll keep our eye on the thread... and the Vampires of Claw Keep shall take the field any day, any where...

    Re: Uz guyz are bettaz

Well...I have dealt with the war room  a lot...and ..well...

I wouldn't take them up on that challenge. It will just turn into a pissing match.  At Red Claw we make lists for our army based on fluff and style, they make list to win, win and win. Then when they don't win they ***.  Also many gamers from the War Room use photocopied army books.  While I am all for saving money, this puts guys like Tom out of business.  These people rarly buy their models at a retailer, again screwing guys like Tom.  I know this is a big rant but for those of you who know me know I never complain and I'm very easy going.  In this case I am not.  I would not play in a compitition against the War Room, not that I am scared but I know when to fight and when to lay low.

Red Claw is the better club by far!!! Big Smile [:D]  Besides, like everyone said is there even 6 40k players?

    Hmmmmmm....

Food for thought for sure... especially since I don't like being put out of business. Wink [;)] In all honesty, I'm fairly easy-going when it comes to people playing here at the store, but I can't remember a time when someone actually brought in a photocopied book... that would make me slightly upset...

Yeah, I know you are easy going its them I worry about.  Also I'm not gonna say all of them are brutal and have photocopied books but a lot do.  I think the guys from both clubs would get along fine until the war room started to lose.  Then it would get ugly.  And yes,  they will lose!!!!

    Re: Uz guyz are bettaz

Those are some uh, rather broad and sweeping generalizations to make about 30-40 people.  I've played hundreds of games in many systems at the WR over the past two years and have never once played against someone who was using an illegally downloaded book.  The mix of different gaming styles and personalities is the same as any other club I've been to in 15 years of assorted wargaming.  Some people power game, some don't.  I've seen plenty of 'cheesey' army lists on tables at Red Claw too =)

I am sincerely sorry you've had bad experiences in the past with people who were/are members of the Warroom club.  However, I don't think that is license to brand several dozen of 'those people' as poor sports, sore losers, and thieves.  I am hardly the only member of the Warroom who has started purchasing their game materials at RCG, and I and others promote the store to new players as an alternative to WestEd/Kingsway.

By the by, A, I finally got the replacement for that gobbo that was missing a head... you know, the one riding the Gigantic Spider you bought back at the beginning  of 2008? Yeah... it's behind the counter.

as they say in the colloquial: roflcakes

It's cause I'm an expat you see, and now that the Americans are running things for all of North America they were like, this guy needs his gobbo head so he can get on with bringing some arachnidian justice to Canadia.

That poor mini has been languishing at the back of my work bench for so long!  I at one point had figured I'd just pin the head from a plastic champ on him, but never got around to it.  Finally My spiderhorde of spidery doom will come to fruition!

I am not going to start an argurement with you like I think you want.  I too have been gaming for over 15 years.  I have gamed in numerous places across Canada.  I have gamed in England and even in Dubai.  All I am saying is that the Warroom has been at the bottom of my list for a long time.  I just don't want to see that happens to Red Claw.   People play at different clubs for a lot of reasons.  I feel that Red Claw has a differnet outlook on gaming than the WR does.  The vibe is much better a RC then WR, for me anyway.  I have heard a lot of bad stories come out of the WR not just my own.  If the WR and RC do have a Tourny, cool.  I won't play in it, that's all.  It is my persoanl opinion about the WR I was just letting be known.  I have gamed there many times and I may have gamed against you, who knows?  I know that Hall of Heroes tournies were run poorly there.  I am not a big fan of about 20 twenty people there.  So if you have 30-40 people that 50%. I know guys that wanted to fist fight over games. At Red Claw I like everyone. And no one fist fights. Again, its just me, or is it?

Hey hey hey... we're not counting when you're playing here! Wink [;)]

Seriously though, this is all just a matter of opinion. There isn't any reason for an argument to be started over it, and I can more than willingly accept one person's point of view just as easily as anothers. Opinions are like... well, you know what they're like. Big Smile [:D]

Regardless, if the Warroom guys want to have a tourney, I can't in good concious not grant them the oppurtunity of losing to some of the best gamers in Edmonton... that would just be wrong.

    Stick out tongue [:P]

So, be that as it may, I'll get a sign-up sheet here at the Claw. Who exactly is going to be organizing this, where will it be held, when, and is there going to be any type of cost and/or prizing available?

Just to show I'm not a Jerk.  I will play in the tourny if I am here and not out east.
